choco B SG Yes The one in hawker center with the yellow sek mee + chor bee hoon is fried hokkien PRAWN mee Hokkien Mee in restaurants are the brown one, and it is not that rare, in fact some zhi chars still can fry it . http://www.benghiang.com/ this place has good Hokkien Mee
the Bear SG oh.. what the crab looks like, can clicky here => Sungei Buloh when i saw them at Changi once, i wanted to grab them but it meant a lot of swimming to the outside of this 'enclosure' thing...
Wanda SG You tell the zhi char stall the black black mee and they will know...it's common. But the original sedap ones comes with lard.
elindra SG I know how it looks like I dunno that Teochew Resturant Guan Hin seems to have substitute if you to try I dunno maybe you might have better luck in Malaysia?
stellazio SG funny, i dun see it in the menu. i see hor fun, shen mian etc but not that hokkien mee. woo lard...
kopiosatu SG wah lao, just got back from a makan. suddenly my exercise kaki call me. now i gotta back my stuff, go his area to jog. but i'm looking forward to my new phone!
the Bear SG they didn't have to drown the crabs... you just have to soak them after you've killed them by stabbing them with a knife.. it's something like the swamp crabs.. i've had this... the swamp crab is better
elindra SG Bear I thinkn the only way to eat the swamp crabs is to do it yourself >< Maybe you can catch the crabs and keep them as pets for a while first to 'detox' them
Wanda SG Yee mee is the one fried till crispy and with gravy poured over it issit? Or the curly rubber band mee?
choco B SG Yi Mee is the curly rubber band, one of my favourites. I think the crispy mee is sheng mian but I may be wrong !
the Bear SG yeah.. i thought of that.. but i think my source of the crab (my aunt who lives there in Muar) has vetoed that she refuses to allow me to eat them even if i do 'detox' them
